About this event

Even with limited resources\, journalism nonprofits can take advantage of the power of visual journalism. Thoughtful visual journalism makes an important and profound impact in the editorial space as well as audience engagement. It’s the most efficient and visceral way for communities to see that they’re seen. Whether in the hands of staffers not formally trained or experienced as visual journalists or when hiring independent visual journalists its value should not be underestimated. However\, an informed process\, for a variety of reasons\, is often left out of the discussion. \ Scott Lewis — award winning photojournalist\, photo editor\, consultant and the Creative Director of the Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism (CCIJ) — will provide insight and actionable approaches to empower current staffs to do more with the resources you have as well as providing a foundation for working with freelancers to take your visual journalism to the next level.
